Detailed Description of the French examinations

Every type of Delf and Dalf examinations of French as well as german have been designed to according to the principle of action that is used by the Common European Framework of Reference for foreign Languages, that defines student of a language as social factors who have jobs to perform (that are not only involvesves speaking) in given situations , in a specific environment and within a particular area of action, which may be personal , social , academic or professional area.
These standards examinations of French Delf and Dalf are based on the knowledge, mastery , and learning skills that are part of the very ability to converse by way of language at linguistic and pragmatic level. This type of ability is used to perform varied language activities in comprehension, meditation , and interaction.
The examinations are therefore created to include the four important skills at every level, with different degrees of interaction and mediation required depending on every level. Marks of at least 50/100 is required to be awarded the diploma.
It must be remembered at every condition that neither the language speaking competency nor the exact mark of communication of spoken and written language skills can ever be evaluated in absolute terms in any foreign language. The minimum requirements for every level are different, and candidates shouldnot be penalised for not having knowledge that will come from future instructions. DELF A1

This first level recognises basic knowledge of the French language. It is the first most basic level at which a language is used, called the ” born ” stage. At this particular stage, the learner can interact in a simple way: he/she can speak about him/herself and his/her immediate surroundings.

Includes Comprehension questionnaires  thatdeals with three or four very short recordings on everyday life and situations , It is played twice.
Maximum duration of recording s: 3 minutes.

Comprehension questionnaires that deals with four or five written documents on everyday life.

Two part test:
– filling a form
– writing simple texts  (postcards, messages, stories etc) on everyday situations.

Three part test includes :
– guided conversation of topic
– exchanging information on current immediate surroundings
– role-play.

DELF A2

DELF A2 is also based on the same principle of nature: that recognises the linguistic competency of a basic users , who is considered as a social actor. The candidate can communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring the most common polite phrases in French language.

Comprehension questions dealing with three small recordings on everyday life (played twice).
Maximum duration of recordings: 5 minutes

Two small pieces of writing (letter or message)
– describe an event or personal experiences
– invite, thanking , say sorry, ask for something, send information, congratulate in writing and more

Three part test:
– guided conversation on topic
– exchanging information
– and again role-play.

DELF B1

At this level, the student becomes independent in langauge. One can maintain interaction: he/she can understand and discus and give his/her opinion. He/she is able to deal with situations likely to emerge in daily life.

Comprehension questions  that deals with three recordings (played  twice).

Comprehension questions taht deals with two written documents.
– extract important and useful information concerning a particular job
– analysing the contents of a document of general interest.

Expressing personal opinions on a general topic (essay, letter, article etc).

Speaking
Test includes three parts:
– guided conversation
– interactive exercise in speaking
– to express an opinion on a document created to elicit a reaction.

DELF B2

A B2 user has a high degree of independence that allows someone to do arguments to defend his/her opinion, explain his/her viewpoint and negotiate. At this level, the candidate has a high degree of fluency and spontaneity in regular and spontaneous interactions and is capable of correcting his/her own mistakes.

Listening
Comprehension questions that deal with three recordings:
– interview, news bulletin etc (played  only once)
– presentation on topic,  lecture , speech on topic, documentary, radio or television programme (played twice).

– text of an informational nature regarding France or the Francaphone speaking world
– text of an argumentative nature

Writing
Taking a personal stand on debates or reviews

Speaking
Defending an opinion based on a short text designed to elicit a reaction.
